Last summer, a rep from the Red Cross came to talk to our Neighborhood Association about a “Sound the Alarm” public safety campaign they were planning to host in Slatterly Park. Then hurricane season happened and the Red Cross had other important stuff to do instead. Now, Sound the Alarm is back on!
The plan is to install free smoke alarms for those who need them. They’re hoping to start the installations in May and are looking to figure out the amount of demand they need to meet.
A rep from the Sound the Alarm Program will becoming to our next neighborhood meeting on April 24, 7pm at Hawthorne School. If you’re interested, please come. We’ll also be sharing signup info online as soon as it is available. In addition, if you’re interested in volunteering to help promote, the Red Cross is looking for folks willing to pass out fliers and door hangers in the neighborhood. More on this soon.
