Slatterly Park Neighborhood Association and Art on the Ave are partnering for an event on Saturday, August 15, 2 – 4pm (rain date August 16). Admission is free.

The event features local bands, chalk art by local artist, and a neighborhood chalk art contest with prizes.

Neighbors are invited to attend while maintaining social distancing.

We will also be inviting some local food vendors (different ones at each station) to sell seasonal treats like ice cream, hot dogs, and mango lassi.

This event is sponsored by RNeighbors.

Sign up for the neighborhood chalk art contest

In addition to the music and murals, neighbors are invited to create their own chalk artwork on their driveway or sidewalk as part of a contest with prizes! All ages are welcome to join the chalk art contest.

Contest guidelines:
  • Chalk art will need to be completed by 2pm when our judges will walk around and view each contestant’s entry.
  • We recommend that chalk art entries be sprayed with a fixative, like hairspray, to give them a little extra staying power. In addition, it might be a good idea to protect them with tarp or similar until judging begins to make sure they’re in their best shape.
  • Prizes will be given to the top rated chalk artworks based on age group and include art kits from our generous sponsor Neon Green Studio.
  • This is a neighborhood event. Please choose themes appropriate for all ages to view.
