The AoA “Art on the Ave” Committee is seeking potential hosts for the 2015 Art on the Ave event, which will be held Saturday May 16. The event host not only gets an awesome sculpture installed, but they get to help define the theme for the sculpture to be installed. That theme is then sent out as an RFP to artist who have a chance to make a bid on the design for the sculpture that will permanently get installed on your boulevard.
This year’s preference will be given for a location north of 9th Street SE, or east of the river in an effort to move the event around the neighborhood, but other locations will be considered.
- Hold monthly meetings at your house starting in September leading up to event (you can help dictate night of week/time)
- Be willing to communicate with your neighbors on the block about the upcoming event, and act as a liaison.
- Have available for committee members, wine glasses and plates and napkins
- The committee is a fun group and we all bring an appetizer, or a bottle of wine/beer to share, which makes us a fun foodie and craft beer/wine group.
