Rochester Public Transit Survey

Get involved in the future of Rochester transit:

Rochester Public Transit (RPT) will be launching several public input efforts. This is part of the Transit Development Plan, which will guide RPT’s development for the next 5-7 years. These outreach efforts will help RPT learn what is working well with the bus system, what needs to improve, and how we could make the needed improvements.

2016 Art on the Ave Host -SELECTED

With the Art on the Ave 2016 selection process closed (9/18/2015), the Art on the Ave Committee reviewed several submissions from a group of qualified applicants, and narrowed down a list of finalist based on the criteria the committee asked for.  The winning applicant for 2016 is Joe & Nicole Nurmi on the 800 block of 7th Ave SE.  The Nurmi’s are newer to the neighborhood and are excited to be the 2016 Host, and are willing to take on the AoA Host Responsibilities.  A special thanks to all those who applied this year, we had a great pool of households who applied, and we encourage people to re-apply again next year.

The host selected theme for this year is “DANCE” which will guide artist in the design of the sculpture that will be permanently installed on the host boulevard.  An RFP(request for proposal) will be sent to artist in the next month to start the process.

Slatterly Park Neighbors

Come to a special neighborhood meeting Wednesday, Sept. 30 to hear about the development plans for the “Buckeye Liquor” site on the corner of Third Avenue and Fourth Street.  A Representative of Stencil Group Development will discuss their plans for a six story mixed use development with retail space on the first floor and a mix of 88 market rate/affordable apartments above.   The developer is reaching out to the neighborhood, which is encouraging that they want to be a part of our neighborhood.
